District 9

During the holidays I watched district 9 and was myself and others slightly confused. Some thought it was about xenophobia? But it was actually based on the events that occurred in the 1970's at District 6 in South Africa . The film was overall very good but it had a significant weaknesses. Why were the 'Nigerians' in the film speaking Nyanja?

Aims & Objectives 2011 / 2012

1. To raise awareness of Zimbabwean health provision challeneges amongst medical students in the UK
2. To establish links with students from all health care disciplines in Zimbabwe in line with models proposed by the Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET)
3. To encourage and facilitate collaboration in learning and research between students in Zimbabwe and the UK.
4. To help with the provision of resources and learning materials (e.g. collecting books, sharing electronic resources and fundraising for library equipment and computers)
